What GPA do I need to transfer to John Jay College?

I'm eyeing a transfer to John Jay College and want to know what GPA I should have. Does anyone know the minimum or competitive GPA for transfers there? Any help would be appreciated!

John Jay College of Criminal Justice, part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system, maintains a minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 for transfer students. This is the absolute bottom line, but a GPA of 2.0 will probably make your application less competitive.

The school's online transfer guide suggests that successful transfer students typically have GPAs that are significantly higher than the minimum. Check the most recent class profile for precise data, but in previous years, the average GPA of accepted transfer students was around 2.7 to 3.0. This isn't a firm cut-off, but it does tell us that John Jay College values academic achievement.

Keep in mind that your GPA is not the only criterion college admissions officers look at during the application review process. Your previous coursework, particularly if it relates to your intended major, and other aspects of your application will also be significant.

Applying to transfer is similar to applying out of high school in that admissions officers want to see that you've pursued challenging coursework and have demonstrated a commitment to your education. They're also interested in why you want to transfer and what you'll bring to their campus. Make sure you articulate clearly in your application why you want to attend John Jay College specifically.
